About us
pigsarTM is one of the world’s leading high-pressure gas meter test facilities. We offer precise calibration and verification of gas meters with natural gas, ensuring high accuracy in gas flow measurements for our clients.
pigsarTM calibrates meters and complete meter runs for commercial use in high-pressure natural gas systems. Due to the high volume of gas flowing through the meters, even the slightest measurement error can have serious consequences. We collaborate closely with the German Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology (PTB) and therefore have direct access to the national standards of the PTB for our two facilities. For several decades, pigsarTM has maintained very low measurement uncertainty, fostering long-term stability and trust in our customer relationships.

pigsarTM contains of two test facilities: the Closed Loop pigsarTM and the Bypass pigsarTM.
Our services include:
Calibration of meters and complete meter runs: turbine flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters, vortex flow meters, coriolis meters, orifice meters, Venturi nozzles, sonic nozzles or on request
Certificates for other pressure ranges: 0.1 to more than 10 MPa and other gases (air, N2, CO2) based on additional investigations by the Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology (PTB), e.g. calibration with atmospheric air
Calibration by "derivation" of other test facilities: In collaboration with the PTB, either through direct calibration of working standards or via transfer meters
Special calibrations: of turbine flow meters, rotary piston flow meters and sonic nozzles directly against the primary standard high-pressure piston prover in the flow range Qb=3 to 480 m³/h and at pressures of p=0.8 to 5.5 MPa. The extended measurement uncertainty for these calibrations is around U95%=0.1%
pigsarTM is accredited by DAkks according to ISO/ IEC 17025.
